I do not have experience with the PSC box but have heard good things. ANYTHING is better than stock and taht is a killer price. All boxes can be tapped for the hydro assist. It's just a matter of where do you drill.... There are several shops that specialze in steering boxes and they can all do it for you for a fee. Instructions are also available online (google it) if you want to try it yourself. I'd practice on an old junk box first..... I'd hate to screw up a good one.

I have done this on all years of Dodges and it can be done. The rear hangers are not going to fit prefect however. I had to make custom hangers and no templates are available for the pre-76 trucks. The angle of the shackle bucket is different and it will cant the new bracket forward. This could cause problems with the top bolt on the new hanger. The best thing to do is to mount the front two bolts and then custom locate the two rear bolts in the best location for your frame.
The front bed mounts can be moved to the top of the frame (as they are on the newer trucks) and should line up with holes in the bed. At least they did on the 74 I did this install on. I did have to whack off the original brackets as I recall. It's been a lot of years since I did this last. The memory is the first thing to go I guess, haha.

So, anyone with experience with PSC gearboxes? My stock one's ok, but I have the opportunity to by a used PSC for the old dodge for about $100. I'd really like to have a hydraulic assist tapped box, but I'm thinking this might get me by for awhile? Are the PSCs worh the cost?

Hey Bill!
Thanks for the help!
It turns out the motor with the roller rockers is a 1969, so it's an LA motor. From my understanding, the LAs began production around 1967.
This motor has crane gold roller tip rockers that are adjustable, and they use a ball/tulip push rod. The 360 is a 1989 block, and has been rebuilt with stock stamped rockers and pushrods (ball/ball) with no adjustment. I think both engines have hydraulic flat tappet lifters.
It's hard to get a length comparison on the pushrods because of the different end configuration, but I think I'm going to give the swap a try. From my understanding (which is pretty limited), I think the stock pushrods will work ok on the 318 because the hydraulic lifters are pretty much self adjusting? I'll put the new rockers and pushrods on the 360 and set the rockers to preload the lifters 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn.

I'm about to do the rear monster suspension upgrade on my old dodge and have a few questions.
1. What do you do about the front bed mounts? From what I can tell, you move the front hanger forward. However, immediately in front of the front hangers on each side are bed/body mounts.
2. I got the Skyjacker CR33S springs. It's a 4-leaf spring pack with an extremely thick bottom overload spring. Do you remove this heavy bottom leaf/spacer, or can you get the full 20" travel with it in place?
3. Is there a complete write up or set of instructions on how to do this? I saw on offroad exchange that there's a little write up, but directions for the rear spring hanger placement are incomplete, as it still says pictures to come.
Thanks guys!!!

Which 318, the LA or Poly motor? All LA (Later A Block) motors have interchangeable parts. Solid lifter cams will not effect the rockers. The pushrods maybe but not the rockers.
If it's a early Poly 318 then no, those parts are not interchangeable with later LA blocks as far as I know.
Hope this helps

Hey guys!
Does anyone know if roller rockers on a '60s model 318 with hydraulic lifters would bolt up to an '80s model 360 with solid lifters?
